Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 2026 | Last Updated: September 2026
1. Overview & Commitment
BaseRent ("we", "our", or "us"), founded and maintained by independent developer Praful Tony, respects and values your privacy. This Privacy Policy details our practices concerning the collection, storage, protection, and handling of personal data across our native Android mobile application and official website (www.baserent.co.in).
2. 100% Offline-First Data Architecture
BaseRent is architected from the ground up as an offline-first software utility. All sensitive property records entered by you—including tenant names, contact numbers, room numbers, rent ledgers, meter readings, and expense receipts—are stored exclusively on your physical Android device within an isolated local Room SQLite database.
- We do not track, inspect, monetize, or harvest your rental records.
- We do not sell or transfer user property data to any data broker or advertising network.
3. Optional Cloud Sync & Encryption
If you optionally configure Google Cloud Sync or Firebase Remote Backup within the application, your local database backup payload is encrypted client-side using military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption prior to transmission. Decryption keys remain exclusively under user control.
4. Payment Processing (Razorpay)
When purchasing the BaseRent Pro Lifetime License (₹499/-), your financial transaction is processed directly by Razorpay Software Private Limited, an RBI-authorized Payment Aggregator complying with PCI-DSS Level 1 standards. We do not receive, store, or view your credit card numbers, debit card PINs, CVV, or bank account credentials.
5. Device Permissions Required by Android App
BaseRent requests only strictly necessary permissions to deliver utility functionality:
- Storage / Media Access: Required to save and export PDF rent receipts and CSV ledger files to your Downloads folder.
- Notification Access: Required to trigger local alarms and reminders for tenant rent due dates.
- Internet Access: Used exclusively for license verification and user-initiated cloud backup.
6. User Rights & Data Deletion
Because all primary data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control. You can delete your entire property database at any time simply by clearing application data in Android Settings or uninstalling the app. If you have created cloud backups, you can delete them directly through the in-app backup management console.
